Heart Shaped Lunch
A sandwich for lunch always goes down like a lead balloon in our house. My children expect me to be waitress like in the kitchen ready to pen their orders and whip up a hot lunch to order. Obviously a true domestic goddess would have the goodies at hand to whip up a nutritious child pleasing delight…….but my inner Domestic Goddess goes on strike quite a lot. They are often disappointed. Fool them with some pretty styling then? A heart shaped lunch should do the trick right.
Obviously the kids were not impressed….”its still a sandwich no matter what shape it is”. Use cookie cutters to cut the sandwich into the heart shape. Add a little peekaboo heart to show the ‘contents’ of the sandwich. The cucumber got the cookie cutter treatment too. For the tomatoes, we used baby plum tomatoes. Cut in the middle, at a slight angle, and turn over one of the halves. Cranberry ice cubes floating in orange juice to wash it down.
