Sharpie Painted Plate: A Party Without Cake Is Just A Meeting
Its my good friend Erins birthday this week – she is the most amazing baker ever, and has often made scrumptious cakes for the kids, Mr PSGC or me for our birthdays. Another friend and I are taking her out for her birthday on Thursday. As a gift, I painted her this gold sharpie painted plate.
- White plate
- Gold oil based sharpie
First draw your design in pencil, so you can correct mistakes, and be happy with the layout. These will burn off in the oven when you fire the plate.
Use your pencil lines, and went over in metallic gold (oil based) sharpie. Mine has a superfine tip, so is perfect for writing, outlines or fine details.
The plate will be touch dry in around 30 mins. Place the sharpie decorated plate in the oven at 140 degrees C for 30 mins, then switch the oven off, and allow the plate to cool in the oven.
I would advise leaving the plate for 3 days, after which they are dishwasher proof on a 40 degree setting.
