Gift Wrap Ideas (6): Craft Paper
Today is the sixth day of my 12 days of Christmas Gift Wrap ideas: Craft (or brown) paper.
A quick meander through the internet quickly shows this to be one of the easiest and most popular gift wrap ideas. Its cheap, strong, and easy to pimp up. Its definitely one of my favourites.
1. TIED UP WITH STRING
I Couldn’t really have a brown paper gift wrap round up, without Brown paper packages tied up with string. I love mine with black string and little DIY ceramic gift tag.
2. FLOWER WRAP
The Cargo Collective has used craft paper and white paint to make a great way packaging flowers. This is a brilliant way of pimping up cheap supermarket flowers. There are no instructions on the site, but I think its fairly self explanatory from the picture.
3. DOODLING
Craft paper gifts are just crying out for a bit of doodling. They are like the blank canvas of gifting. Laikonik have used red and ink to create these fab scandi style effects.
And white dots with these hand painted tags and string look awesome. (A white ink pad and eraser end of pencil can be used for the printing). Unfortunately no link available to this picture.
And finally Majamatala has doodled and stuck bright baubles and shapes.
4. RIBBONS & BOWS
These brown craft boxes, have been seriously pimped up using ribbons, bows, cords and other haberdashery items. No Link available to the original photo unfortunately.
5. POSTAGE STAMPS
Bugs and fishes Have added used postage stamps to craft paper in these gifts. A match made in heaven.
6. BROWN ON BROWN
So effective for lots of small gifts, I foun this gorgeous example on Flicker of using brown printed labels with craft paper. One of the typewriter fonts would look great with this idea.
7. BROWN BAGS
As well as rolls of craft paper, simple brown bags make great options for small gifts
Paper Glitter have these super cute brown bags that they have stamped with clouds. You could stamp your own simple design, or even run them through your printer.
The Berry has used simple brown bags and secured them with printed labels and cocktail sticks.
Or for something more robust, use grocery bags. Like this example from Casa Haus
8. STAR PAPER PACKAGES
Jeanneandmoon has sewn little gifts into star shapes. As well as cute gifts, they make beautiful christmas decorations. though only really suitable for teeny tiny items.
9. BOXES & BOXES
Mamas Kram has made this adorable advent calendar using craft paper boxes and adding paper snowflakes and numbers in monochrome.
10. SIMPLE EMBELLISHMENTS
I love these gifts with fun little embellishments from You are my fave The brown paper keeps the theme consistent. Unfussy and creative.
I love all these craft paper ideas. Do you have a favourite? Don’t forget to check out the other gift wrap posts in this series.
