Easy Christmas Tree Naan Pizza
My kids love to make their own pizza, so they get exactly their favourite combination of tomato, cheese and toppings. (i.e. they can cram loads on).
I am not a fan of the ready made pizza bases from the supermarket (just too doughy) – but we do not always have time to make dough from scratch. As a compromise we use Naan bread as an easy pizza base.
Nothing new in that. If you buy good quality naan, they crisp up really nicely, and are a great individual size. Last week, we gave them a festive twist! – Christmas Tree Naan Pizza !
The naan bread is semi triangular already – but snipping a few branch shapes, really adds to the tree effect. I used scissors to snip them out.
As with any other pizza base – Add your favourite marinara / tomato and basil sauce, and sprinkle with cheese.
Add christmas tree decorations. Don’t forget to add a star to the top of your tree.
Obviously any toppings are fine, but the more “jewelled” the better. I use peppers of different colours, salami and olives. Ham, or sweetcorn would be great too. We used mini icing cutters to shape the peppers and salami (because I’m a little sad like that) – but cutting into small pieces is fine if you can’t be bothered to do that. The kids use far less restraint with their pizza toppings!Bake in the oven around 180 degrees celcius for 15-20 mins, or until the cheese has melted.
