Eucalyptus Place Settings
Do you make a seating plan when you throw a dinner party? Making personalised name places makes guests feel a bit special, and a predefined seating plan, enables you to place guests strategically around the table.
In addition you avoid last minute faffing when you want people to sit down when you serve – just point them towards the table, while you get on with the last minute plating up.
Write your place setting names on almost anything; the quirkier the better makes a great talking point when guests first sit down. There is no need to spend ages making them. Â These eucalyptus place settings were a five minute sharpie scribble on the eucalyptus leaves just before our guests arrived.
Materials
- Large leaves
- Sharpie or paint
Method
Excuse the rather shabby photographs, as they were taken about 20 minutes before our guests arrived on a dark winter night.
Select larger leaves from the eucalyptus stem and write each guests name in sharpie. Â No fabulous calligraphy here – If I’d had more time, I would have done something a bit more fancy, but these were fine for this simple supper party. Tuck the named leaf with a few smaller leaved sprigs into the napkin.
